Racing became apart of Tisha’s life at an early age.  She was first taken to the drag strip at two weeks old and has been hooked every since.

Growing up as a third generation driver, the driving ability comes natural to her.  The cockpit of a racecar is a second home.

At the young age of 18.  Tisha has many accomplishments tacked to her name.  In her first year of junior drag racing, she won the track championship title at Mooresville Dragway.  Not only did she receive the champion honor, she also went in the record books as the first female to ever win a championship at Mooresville.

In 1999, Tisha attended the NHRA Junior Drag racing Eastern Conference Finals in Indy, IN.  She was a semi- finalist out of 917 participants.

In 2003, long time friend Joel Collins began running an IHRA Top Fuel team.  Tisha began traveling with the team at the tender age of 13 to learn a different aspect of the sport.  Under the guidance of Joel Collins and Richard Hartman she began learning how to work on all different areas of the car specializing in the clutch department. While working with Joel and Richard, Tisha made many contacts including one with Richards’s dad, Virgil Hartman.  Soon after, Tisha began working on Rhonda Hartman-Smith’s Top Fuel team as a clutch assistant.

After working 3 years as an assistant, Virgil felt that it was time for her to become fully responsible for the clutch department.  For the remanding two years that Rhonda competed, was not only the clutch specialist but also the youngest crew-member in the pit area at the age of 16.  While seeing her potential as a mechanic, Virgil also had seen her dedication and sparkle that she had shown others as a driver.

In the summer of 2006, Virgil gave Tisha the opportunity to drive his Nostalgia Nitro Funny car.  After her explosive debut, Tisha has used that experience as a stepping stone to obtain her ultimate goal of becoming a professional driver.

In 2007,  while continuing to finish her college education, Tisha made her first career appearance in a final round at Mooresville Dragway in the Top Eliminator category along with her career debut on the NHRA Lucas Oil Series Sportsman circuit in September at Atlanta Dragway.  All to prepare herself for the 2008 season.

Tisha started off the season in 2008 running local bracket races and participating in the IHRA divisional races in North Carolina.  She had some early success in IHRA and decided it was time to make her NHRA National Event debut in Atlanta. Tisha had her share of new car blues until October when she arrived at Richmond Dragway in Richmond, VA. She showed that she was capable of running with the best, walking away with her first WALLY!

The 2010 season looks promising and will kick off in February with the Lucas Oil Sportsman Series in Florida.
